Cheep Entertainment

Now that the weather has been nice hot and the windows have been open a lot because our a/c hasn’t been hooked up yet,  we are able to enjoy the beautiful sounds of birds singing. Let me tell you, they start early (5:00 am) and burst into song again at dusk, mixing in more melodies during the day.  Because of the woods, and abundant trees and shrubs, we have a lot of birds around our place.

One of the best places watch birds is from our window seat –  if you sit really still.  We hung a bird feeder with a suction cup hook from the window itself and the feeder sees a lot of action.  There are bushes all around this window and if you look down you will see the branches quivering and shaking from all the activity near the feeder.  This has provided great entertainment for our kids, especially Annika.  One of her first words was peep-peep, which to her means birdie.

Sometimes we get the wrong kind of guest 🙂

Do you feed the birds around your place?  Do you keep it up in the summer?  I am just keeping this feeder going in the summer.  The cheer it adds to our home is well worth it.
